In few trains where the utilization of tatkal quota is less than 50% an option for W/L passenger have been provided to opt for tatkal quota berth at the time of booking their tickets.

Even before the opening of the reservation of tatkal quota , the ADVANCE tatkal quota which is 50% of the tatkal quota berths are ear marked for advance option of tatkal booking.

1. An option is taken from the passenger for the train and class in which a flag is set for utilization of less than 50%.
2. Full fare including the tatkal charge are charged from passenger at the time of booking.
3. On the opening day of tatkal quota booking those passenger who have opted ADVANCE tatkal quota are allotted berths ear marked.
4. Flag only appear when the W/L start in such trains.
5. Once such passenger is allotted under ADVANCE tatkal quota he/she is governed by tatkal quota rule.( No concession in fare will be allowed against such tickets.)
6. In case passenger is updated against cancellation in “GN” quota before the allotment against tatkal then this passenger governed by “GN” quota rule and he/she can claim the refund for the tatkal charge paid him by applying through TDR.
7. Tatkal charges by obtaining a Ticket Deposit Receipt within 30 days of departure of train.
8. The accommodation of these passenger is allotted on the opening day of the tatkal.
9. In such trains there will be no restriction of booking under Tatkal scheme and tickets can be booked as are booked in general quota in the respective trains.
